Tech Tip – WhatsApp, How To Add Emphasis To Your Words

If you would like to be able to change the look of your messages in WhatsApp and to be able to add difference emphases to words such as Bold or Italic, here is how to do it:

• Open the WhatsApp application
• Create a message
• When typing, if you would like a word or words to be bold, put asterisks at either end of the word or words, for example *make this bold* will result in a message that says make this bold
• If you would like to make a word or words italic, put an underscore at either end of the word or words, for example _make this italic_ will result in a message that says make this italic
• If you would like to add strikethrough to a word or words, put a tilde at either end of the word or words, for example ~strike this through~ will result in a message that says strike this through
