Tech Tip - How To Quickly Open A Second Instance Of Any Application In Windows

Sometimes you may want to open a second instance of an application, for example, let's say you want to move some files about in your computer, moving them from one folder and filing them into another.  Instead of going into the menu system and navigating your way to open up another instance of Windows Explorer, here is a quicker, far simpler way of doing it:

  • Look for the running application icon on the task bar
  • Hold down the shift key, then click on the icon of the application
  • This will launch another instance of that running application!

That's it, it will launch another instance of the application, what's more is that this works on any application in Windows.  Give it a try!
