Tech Tip – How To Check A Website Power Usage - Yes, I actually wrote power usage!

Did you know that different websites have different power requirements?  Why should this bother you?  Well, if you are out and about and don't want to drain your laptop battery, Firefox can show you just how much power specific websites make your computer use.

Here's how to use it: 

• Open Firefox
• Browse to the website you want to use
• Click the three dots top right
• Select "Tools" or "More Tools"
• Select "Web Developer Tools"
• Click on the "Performance" tab
• Click "Start recording"
• Hover your mouse over the power graphs.  This will show you how many watts of power the website is using!
