Tech Tip : Check PC Performance and Health Using Windows Security
Did you know that Microsoft Windows has a built in security tool?
Did you also know you can use this tool to check the health of you computer?
Here is how to do it:
- Launch Windows
- Click the Start button and select Settings
- Click "Update & Security"
- Select "Windows Security"
- Click on "Device Performance & Health"
Once you are at "Device Performance & Health", you can get Windows to generate you reports on your computers system health and highlight anything that may impact performance. Reports can give you information about:
- Software that is impacting system performance
- Storage capacity (low free storage can impact performance)
- Battery life (in laptops) get an understanding of the health of the battery in your laptop
- Applications
If Windows does detect any issues, it will also provide you with a prompt on how to try to resolve it,
It is interesting to see how healthy your device is and also you can benefit from resolving any issues that are impacting its performance.
