Tech Tip – A Quick, Easy Way To Open Items From Your Taskbar

If you’d like really quick and easy way to open the programs or shortcuts that are pinned to your Taskbar in Windows 10 and Windows 11, then here’s how:

• Look at the Taskbar and count, from left to right, which number order the program or shortcut is that you’d like to open - NOTE the start button, search box and features like Widgets or Task View (in Windows 11) do not add to the count so should be ignored
• Use the Windows key + the application number corresponding to the position of the pinned program or shortcut on the Taskbar
• For example, Windows key + 3 will open the third application pinned item on the taskbar
