Tech Tip – How To Stay Organised With Microsoft To Do’s "My Day"

If you would like to see improvements in your productivity and you would also like focus more on daily tasks, but in a way that works with your existing habits and behaviours, and doesn’t create a forever growing to-do lists, "My Day" in Microsoft's ‘To Do’ cross-platform application might be just what you need.
Here is how to use it:
- Open a browser
- Go to https://todo.microsoft.com/tasks/
- Login with your Microsoft 365 username, password and 2FA (if using 2FA)
- To create a new task click on "Tasks", give you new task a name and click "Add"
- On the right hand menu, click on the horizontal tab for the task which will then allow you to set a task due date, set reminders, set a colour scheme to help identify or group your task(s), select its repeat frequency or add notes or a file to the task
- Also on the right hand menu is "Add to my day" which allows you to add tasks to specific dates.
- Click on "My day" on the left and menu and see which tasks have been set for specific days
- Group tasks together by creating a "New list", giving it a name and clicking enter. You can then go to a task, right click on it and select "Move to task" to join that task to a list to group tasks together
- When a task has been completed, click on the radio button next to the task to mark it as complete and To Do will cross the task off the list
NOTE: Alternately you can access To Do from MS Outlook by clicking on the blue tick in the left hand vertical menu
