Tech Tip – How To Disable Your Laptop’s Touchpad
Have you ever had a time where you accidently move the curson about by accidently touching your laptop touchpad whilst typing?
Would you like to be able to temporarily disable the touchpad whilst typing? To disable the touchpad do the following:
- On your Windows 11 computer, right click the start button and select "Settings"
- From the menu on the left, select "Bluetooth and Devices"
- In the right hand menu select "Touchpad"
- When the Touchpad menu opens, move the Touchpad toggle from On to Off, this will disable the touchpad
NOTE: you may find it easier to have a mouse connected before disabling the touchpad as it would make it easier to enable it again, unless the device is touchscreen, then the touchscreen can be used to enable the touchpad again
