Tech Tip – How Group Tabs In Google Chrome To Keep Related Pages Together
One way to become more organised when using Google Chrome is to open website tabs together as a group using one click to keep related the pages / sites together in one workspace.
Google Chrome’s "Group tabs" lets your give the group a name and it can be colour coded.
Here is how to do it:
- Open Google Chrome
- Go to a website you want to add to a group / collection of tabs
- Right click on the browser tab for that page
- Select "Add tab to new group" from the drop down menu
- Click on "New Group" and give the group a name and at the same time select a colour for the tab group, OR, select an existing group from the list in the menu
- Keep adding tabs to the group as required
To restore a closed tab group:
- Open Google Chrome
- Open the browser menu (press Alt-F or click on the three vertical dots at the top right of the browser)
- Click on History
- Click on the group tab name and select "Restore Tab"
- The colour coded tab group will reappear on the tab bar in the browser
